Among the awards Perry has received:

*  27 commendations for merit and actions beyond the call of duty

*  3 canine exceptional duty medals

*  2 Burlington County 200 Club awards for actions beyond the call of duty

*  CPR Save pin

*  Life Save Medal - rescued a woman from a burning building without regard for his own safety

*  Several awards from the State of New Jersey Senate for actions beyond the call of duty

*  Voted Police Officer of the Year in 2000
Perry and Lakota
Perry's life became entwined with dogs
and training during his 25-year career
as a police officer.

He was a SWAT officer and instructor,
a K-9 handler and trainer, and a
firearms instructor and Sig Sauer
Police Armorer.

Perry has competed and won in regional
and national events for police K-9s.  
From 2002-2006, he served as the
president of the United States Police
Canine Association (USPCA) Region 15.


By 2007, the number of dogs trained
and/or certified by Perry surpassed
the 1,000 mark.
